MCC Applauds Congress' FY 2021 Appropriations Work

Writer: RYAN FERGUSONRYAN FERGUSON

On Sunday, Dec. 27, President Trump signed the Fiscal Year 2021 appropriations bill into law which includes language calling on CMS to establish Medicare program integrity demonstrations using advanced technology.

MCC applauds the work of the Senate and House Appropriations Committee members on FY2021 appropriations and the inclusion of this critical language encouraging CMS to consider pilot programs using AI-enabled documentation and coding technology to address CMS’ top program integrity priorities and reduce administrative burden.

This language speaks directly to RemitOne™ – the exact technology that is equipped to address these needs. With this emphasis, a pilot project has the ability to dramatically improve the Medicare improper payment rate, which strengthens the Medicare program and protects taxpayer dollars.
